Apparently as a result of pressure from the Czech government, Saday Nazarov, a close associate of disgraced former Prime Minister Suret Huseinov, has been released from detention but forbidden to leave Azerbaijan, CTK reported on 14 February, citing Czech Foreign Ministry spokesman Vit Kolar. Nazarov, who left Azerbaijan 10 years ago and was granted political asylum in the Czech Republic, was detained last month shortly after he arrived in Azerbaijan to visit his elderly father.
