In order to preclude further terrorist acts in the North Caucasus, Russia has imposed restrictions on the passage of people and motor vehicles from Azerbaijan and Georgia to the Russian Federation, effective 15 September. All bus routes to Russia operated by Azerbaijani and Georgian companies have been suspended, as has all passenger-vehicle transport between Russia and Georgia.
