KAZAKH PRESIDENT\'S DAUGHTER GIVES UP MEDIA POST UNTIL AFTER

The pro-presidential Asar party announced in a 1 July press release that party leader Darigha Nazarbaeva, the daughter of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev, will give up her post as CEO of Khabar news agency from 1 July to 30 September. Asar will field candidates in 19 September parliamentary elections, and Nazarbaeva is temporarily relinquishing her post \"to avoid possible speculation by [Nazarbaeva\'s] political opponents over the situation.\" Nazarbaeva said that while legal advisers told her that it would be legal to retain her position at Khabar, she decided against it nonetheless.Visit also
