An adviser to President Nursultan Nazarbaev, Yermukhamet Yertysbaev, told journalists in Almaty on 31 January that Nazarbaev will definitely run for re-election in 2006. Yertysbaev said that the president revealed his re-election plans on 16 January, and the president also predicted that he would win.
