TWO KYRGYZ PARTIES TO NOMINATE IMPRISONED LEADER FOR PRESIDENT

Two Kyrgyz opposition parties -- Ar-Namys and Ata-Meken -- have decided jointly to nominate imprisoned Ar-Namys leader and former Vice President Feliks Kulov for the 2005 presidential election, said parliamentarian and Ata-Meken leader Omurbek Tekebaev. Tekebaev described Kulov as the most important opposition candidate. Kulov is currently serving a 10-year sentence for alleged abuse of office during his government service as head of the National Security Service, vice president, and mayor of Bishkek.Visit also
