Azerbaijan\'s Appeals Court ruled on 2 August to rescind the guilty verdict handed down in October to Rauf Arifoglu, editor of the opposition newspaper \"Yeni Musavat.\" Arifoglu was sentenced to five years\' imprisonment for his imputed role in the clashes between police and opposition supporters in Baku in the wake of the disputed October 2003 presidential election.
