Presidential envoy to the Southern Federal District Dmitrii Kozak met in Grozny on 22 June with relatives of the Avar families who fled the Chechen village of Borozdinovskaya for neighboring Daghestan following a sweep operation on 4 June in which at least one person was killed and 11 were detained. Kozak condemned the sweep operation as \"an act of sabotage directed against Chechnya, Daghestan, and Russia,\" and he vowed that those responsible will be apprehended and punished.
