Pervomaisky district court in Bishkek has declined the lawsuit of Bermet Akayeva, the daughter of the former Kyrgyz president, to invalidate the decision of the Central Elections Commission stripping her of her mandate. Her lawyer Svetlana Sorokina told Interfax on Tuesday that on Monday evening the court upheld the decision of the Central Elections Commission. \"Akayeva\'s lawyers and Akayeva herself are dissatisfied with the ruling of the district court and plan to protest it in the Supreme Court within 10 days,\" she said.The Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst is a biweekly publication of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute & Silk Road Studies Program, a Joint Transatlantic Research and Policy Center affiliated with the American Foreign Policy Council, Washington DC., and the Institute for Security and Development Policy, Stockholm.
