KYRGYZ DEMONSTRATORS PROTEST RETURN OF OUSTED PRESIDENT\'S DAUGHTER

About 300 demonstrators gathered in front of Kyrgyzstan\'s parliament on 15 April to protest the return of Bermet Akaeva, the daughter of former President Askar Akaev, RFE/RL\'s Kyrgyz Service reported. Demonstrators included members of the organizations Interbilim, KelKel, and Birge. Edil Baisalov, leader of the NGO coalition For Democracy and Civil Society, told protesters that \"Bermet Akaeva\'s arrival means that she feels that the former regime remains strong.
