Abdullah Abdullah ended a three-day visit to Uzbekistan on 30 August, Uzbek TV reported. The visit focused on trade and transport relations between the two countries, Uzbekistan\'s role in Afghan reconstruction, and the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking in the region. According to Uzbek Foreign Minister Sadyk Safaev, \"Afghanistan should participate in the integration processes in Central Asia and restore its historic role as a linking point in the region.

For his part, Abdullah thanked Uzbekistan, saying, \"Uzbekistan, with its active economic and technical assistance, is playing an extremely important role in the construction of a new Afghanistan, in particular in the construction of roads and bridges.\" The Afghan finance minister and public transport minister accompanied Abdullah on the visit.
