KAZAKH-UZBEK BORDER BACK TO NORMAL

Checkpoints on the Kazakh-Uzbek border are once again functioning normally. Heightened security measures during and immediately after the terror attacks in Uzbekistan between 28 March and 1 April had enforced a near shutdown in cross-border traffic. Though document checks and inspections \"are being carried out thoroughly,\" Kazakh officials told the newspaper that travelers have been able to enter Uzbekistan for the last two days.
