OSCE \'PLEASED\' WITH KYRGYZ PRESIDENTIAL BALLOT

OSCE special envoy Alojz Peterle met with acting First Deputy Prime Minister Kulov on 18 July to discuss Kyrgyzstan\'s recent presidential election and the country\'s progress toward democracy, RFE/RL\'s Kyrgyz Service reported. Peterle commented, \"I\'m more than pleased that the [Kyrgyz presidential] elections were done in that way as they were done.\" He added that he feels that the new government is \"preparing themselves to do what is necessary to be done for the benefit of the country.
