AZERBAIJANI POLICEMAN DISMISSED FOR ASSAULTING JOURNALIST

The police officer who assaulted Farid Teymurkhanli, a reporter for the independent daily \"Ayna/Zerkalo,\" during the unsanctioned 21 May opposition demonstration in Baku has been dismissed, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov told Turan. Teymurkhanli, who suffered a concussion after a blow to the head, has asked the Prosecutor-General\'s Office to bring criminal charges against the police officer in question, whose name Usubov did not divulge.
