RUSSIAN ENVOY SEEKS TO ALLAY AZERBAIJANI CONCERNS OVER ARMS

Russian charge d\'affaires in Baku Petr Burdykin handed to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on 2 June a response from the Russian Foreign Ministry to Baku\'s expression of concern at the redeployment to Armenia of weaponry withdrawn from Russian military bases in Georgia. Burdykin stressed that the arms in question will remain under Russian control, and he rejected as \"an invention\" the suggestion that they would be made available to the Armenian armed forces.
