ADB REVIEWS JOINT PROJECTS IN KAZAKHSTAN

Toqaev met in Astana on 6 September with a team of experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) who are reviewing the progress of joint projects in Kazakhstan that the bank is cofinancing. Those projects include reconstruction of the Almaty-Bishkek highway, which is being jointly funded by the ADB, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Kazakh government. The ADB has made loans totaling about $460 million to Kazakhstan over the past decade and plans to lend a further $120 million annually over the next three years.
