Tbilisi may block the process of Russia\'s accession to the World Trade Organization if it does not lift economic sanctions against Georgia, president of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze told reporters on Wednesday. \"The economic sanctions against Georgia, imposed by Russia, are unjustified and inadequate,\" Gotsiridze said. He called upon the Russian authorities to lift the sanctions. \"These sanctions may cause damage to Russia itself, both economically and in terms of the country\'s international reputation and image,\" he said. \"With the sanctions in effect, there may appear various illegal structures in Russia or mechanisms that will be using unlawful ways of transferring money to Georgia, which, in its turn, will evoke a negative reaction by international organizations with respect to Russia,\" the banker said.
