Salohiddin Nasriddinov, the Tajik deputy minister of foreign affairs, told reporters on 19 January that two Tajik citizens held at the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will soon return to Tajikistan.
Salohiddin Nasriddinov, the Tajik deputy minister of foreign affairs, told reporters on 19 January that two Tajik citizens held at the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will soon return to Tajikistan. Nasriddinov said that Tajikistan has received confirmation from the U.S. State Department that the detainees are on their way home. Nasriddinov said that nine Tajik citizens have already been released from Guantanamo but could not provide information on the number of Tajik nationals still detained at the facility.
